GANSEVOORT
ACADEMIC CONCEPTUAL RETAIL DESIGN
This retail concept brings the character of Manhattan’s Meatpacking District into the Gansevoort Hotel through material, merchandise, and movement. Cobblestone-inspired flooring, dark stone, warm wood, brass, and flexible fixtures create a shop that feels connected to the neighborhood and hotel lobby rather than separate from it.
CONTEXT
The hotel needed a flexible retail environment for guests and visitors, carrying everything from fashion and local art to travel essentials.
APPROACH
I used the neighborhood as the design driver and the existing hotel lobby. Local material references and modular merchandising give the store a clear identity while allowing the product mix to change.
OUTCOME
The shop feels rooted in Meatpacking while remaining adaptable to the hotel’s changing needs.
